Privacy Policy

Flixr AI™ ("Flixr AI," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Bryan M Cohen. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Flixr AI mobile application (the "App") and our website at flixr.ai (the "Site"). By using the App or Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly: Account information (username, email, Apple ID authentication data), profile information (photo, bio, favorite films, backdrop preferences), film activity (ratings, reviews, watchlist entries, diary logs, lists), preferences (genre, streaming service, mood, notification settings), imported data (Letterboxd or IMDb via CSV), and AI Concierge chat messages.

Information collected automatically: Device information (type, OS version, device identifiers), usage data (app interactions, features used, search queries), and log data (access times, crashes, performance data).

Information from third-party services: Apple Sign-In (Apple ID, name, email as authorized by you) and TMDB (publicly available film metadata and images). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and improve the App, generate personalized AI film recommendations, create your Taste DNA profile, power the AI Concierge chat, send notifications (with consent), analyze usage to improve algorithms, provide customer support, and address technical and security issues.

3. AI and Machine Learning

Flixr AI uses artificial intelligence and machine learning for personalized recommendations. This includes analysis of your rating history and viewing patterns, content-based filtering using film metadata, and natural language processing via the Anthropic Claude API for AI Concierge and recommendation explanations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for advertising.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data with: service providers (Cloudflare, Anthropic, TMDB, OMDB) for operating the App, other users through social features you choose to use, and as required by law.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device (encrypted storage, Apple Keychain) and on secure servers. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission and secure authentication via Apple Sign-In. No method of storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You may delete your account and data at any time via Settings > Delete Account. Data is deleted within 30 days of request, except where required by law.

7. Your Rights

You may: access, update, or correct your information, delete your account, opt out of notifications, export your film data, and withdraw consent. California residents may have additional CCPA rights. Contact privacy@flixr.ai to exercise your rights.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact privacy@flixr.ai if you believe a child has provided personal information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
